Metallurgical Laboratory has utilities including cutter, polisher, hot mounter and an optical microscope 1000x, which makes it possible to perform various tests in this laboratory.
1- Oxford Quantometer (2018):
This part of the laboratory is known as one of the key sections in identifying materials and metals using rapid, cheap methods and owns of the newest quantometer (oxford 2018), With the assistance of experts.
Measuring 20 elements based on Fe, e.g., Carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium, nickel, etc.
Measuring 30 elements based on Al, e.g., Silicon, Copper, Iron, Vanadium, Phosphorus, etc.
Measuring 22 elements based on Cu, e.g., Lead, zinc, zirconium, cobalt, beryllium, cadmium, arsenic, antimony, etc.
Measuring 15 elements based on Zn, e.g., Lead, Cadmium, Aluminum, etc.
2- Quantometer set of machines:
Metallography is the art and science of preparing metal samples and analyzing their microscopic microstructure.
Preparation of metal samples means polishing and etching them.
Metallography is the initial step to observe the surface of materials. Using metallography is a way to observe the surface of materials with aided eye.
Abilities of these machines:
Analyzing the behavior of the material in different phases
Calculating the thickness of galvanized cover and color
Measuring the decarburized layer
Indicating the quality of the performed thermal operation
